Overview
This module focuses on mastering two essential management skills: managing down and managing up. Managing down hones your ability to lead and motivate teams effectively, while managing up sharpens your team-building and political skills to secure support and drive results.
You’ll also learn to manage transitions, ensuring smooth and successful changes both internally and externally.
With a blend of case studies, discussions, and exercises, this course builds on your existing managerial knowledge, enhancing your practical skills and understanding.
After this course you will be able to:
- Understand how to lead an organizational change process and individual transition, from both a top-management and a middle-management perspective.
- Provide insight into the different types of communication and the steering process needed to lead a change process, from both strategic and operations standpoints.
- Grasp the impact of good leadership and management in a change process, both in terms of skills and leadership processes.

Carolina Serrano-Archimi
Associate Professor of Leadership & OB, Change Leadership expert and coach/consultant, Pedagogy expert, Tedx speaker- Professor of Organizational Behavior at Aix- Marseille Graduate School of Management- IAE.
- She has worked for 12 years in several companies internationally before joining academia over 20 years ago.
- Her major teaching domains are change management, leadership, process consulting practice, and coaching. Her research domain covers such topics as cynicism in organizations, trust repair processes, social exchange mechanisms between middle management and top management.
- She is a member of international associations like ISBM (ITP consortium) and EDAMBA. She was the Academic Director of the MSc in Corporate Communication and Change Management, MBA, EMBA, EuroMBA and International Teachers Programme ITP for the 2017 and 2018 editions.
- She is also a certified professional coach and a change consultant in organizations and is regularly involved in corporate executive training programmes, in cooperation with BMI, the camp, HEC Paris, and other international organizations and business schools.
