Overview
Module aims to inspire and empower you to become an entrepreneur or dynamic manager, helping you live an entrepreneurial life. It fosters the skills needed to create high-growth ventures, launch new ventures for existing companies, or support established businesses in dynamic markets. Participants will work in teams to assess different businesses, learning key aspects of starting and growing a new venture, whether a startup or a new business within an existing organization. The course covers essential tools and concepts, including business opportunity identification, validation, strategy, and business model development. You will gain diverse insights from various entrepreneurs, investors, and managers.
After this course you will be able to:
- Identify and Evaluate Business Opportunities: gain insights into markets, business opportunities, and business models, especially in the Digital Startup space. Use professional approaches and tools to assess and pursue business opportunities.
- Develop and Implement Business Models: analyze various business models, including e-commerce, subscription models (SaaS), platforms, and account-based businesses. Learn strategies for starting and growing high-growth technology-based businesses.
- Navigate Career Opportunities: gain a deeper understanding of potential target industries, companies, and contacts. Obtain insights into diverse career options, whether starting their own companies, working for large corporations, consulting firms, or becoming investors.
- Foster an Entrepreneurial Mindset: get inspired about the vast opportunities in entrepreneurship. Develop the mindset necessary to thrive in dynamic and high-growth environments.

Prof. Dr. Jan Brinckmann
Professor of Entrepreneurship at ESADE Business School.- Director of the Entrepreneurship Lab of the ESADE MBA Program, Director of ESADE’s own Accelerator EWorks, Director of the MSc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the ESADE Entrepreneurship Research Group.
- He also teaches High Technology Venturing at the University of Sankt Gallen and at the Korean University Business School.
- Has founded different companies including Favcorner, Rending International and a high-tech venture investment and advisory holding firm. He is member of various company boards.
- He is also a very active business angel. Investments include Autit, Bloobirds, Careesma, Club Kviar, Designy, First Stop Health, Icebergs, Juniqe, Lytt, Margin, Pridatect, Red Points, Savedo, Semalytix and ValueDesk with three exits to Pinterest/IPO, Resy/American Express and Deposit Solutions.
- He created and leads the Founders Academy/startup School for the Founders Foundation by the Bertelsmann Foundation.
- He consulted various high-tech firms including Grupo Intercom, Rocket Internet, Pandora, Zanox, Wildlife Works, iWorld Group, Hilltop Technologies, and Fiabee as well as corporations like SAP, Bertelsmann, PPG or Deutsche Bank on corporate entrepreneurship.
