Join us for an evening session of a transformative event co-organized by the BMI Executive Institute and the International Women’s Association of Vilnius (IWAV). This evening delves into the essential yet often overlooked aspects of leadership: the invisible power dynamics that shape our interactions and influence our effectiveness in professional environments.

In every conversation – whether face-to-face, in virtual meetings, or during presentations – there exists an unspoken dialogue concerning power and status. This phenomenon, referred to as the Invisible Power Game™, plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining relationships. Breakdowns in communication are frequently not a result of differing objectives or personalities, but rather an imbalance in the power dynamics at play.

Understanding how we communicate is vital, as it acts as currency in negotiating power within relationships – be it with colleagues, superiors, or clients. A significant portion of lost productivity in the workplace stems from our engagement in power struggles that mask genuine communication. This event will shed light on the subtle signals that indicate control dynamics, highlighting the common roles people adopt: Predator, Prey, or the more constructive Partner.

Key Takeaways:

  • Recognize behaviors that sabotage working relationships and learn how to convey competence and credibility while demonstrating emotional intelligence and leadership presence.
  • Understand the advantages of a partnership-based approach in both professional and personal contexts.
  • Cultivate the ability to adopt the Partner mindset and behaviors to reduce conflict, foster trust, and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

About the International Women’s Association of Vilnius (IWAV)

The International Women’s Association of Vilnius (IWAV) is a charitable organization and support group that unites international and local women living in Lithuania. We are a non-governmental and non-profit association that serves as a forum for socializing, community empowerment, and charitable giving. The association is entirely led and run by volunteers.

We run two beautiful and meaningful charity initiatives:

  • Blossom of Hope: You can help fight breast cancer by raising awareness about early diagnosis, facilitating screenings for women, and raising funds to purchase medical supplies, all of which improve the chances of a positive outcome.
  • International Christmas Charity Bazaar: Our annual event dedicated to helping those in greatest need. 100% of the money collected at the Christmas Bazaar and related activities is donated to beneficiaries, including children, women, the elderly, and people with disabilities in Lithuania.
