BMI is pleased to offer an afternoon session led by:
Guest speaker: Pierre Dussauge

Professor at HEC Paris, France. Professor‘s Research Areas: Strategic Alliances; Strategies of Firms in the Aerospace and Defence Industries; Business and Corporate Strategy; Global Strategies.
Most analysts claim strategy in the digital economy needs to be re-invented. A few others contend that the fundamentals of strategy have not changed and that it is all business as usual. In this presentation, prof. Pierre Dussauge will show how the development of digital technology has primarily resulted in the emergence of so-called “platform businesses”. He will argue that platform businesses do require a somewhat specific approach to strategy, but that such businesses have in fact not appeared with the digital age. Many platform businesses have been around for decades, even centuries, but digital technology has created almost infinite opportunities to create new platform businesses. We will then discuss some of the specific factors managers and entrepreneurs running platform businesses need to pay particular attention to.
