Faculty

Lars Ohnemus, PhD

  • Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the parent company of Northern Horizon Capital AS.
  • Director of Center for Corporate Governance at Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
  • Holds a PhD degree from CBS in Business Administration.
  • Lars is a seasoned executive with experience from both the academic world and international board work/ executive positions. He has worked on executive positions as well as extensive board experience from listed and non-listed firms.
  • With more than 25 years of experience in real estate, and he has built a strong international sector network.

Prof. Georg Guttmann

  • Director of Board Programmes & Assistant Professor of International Corporate Governance at University of St.Gallen
  • Director of Board Programmes at the Executive School where he leads a portfolio of research and practice initiatives aimed at executive committees and boards of directors of large European companies.
  • His research focus lies in the area of strategic leadership and corporate governance.
  • He obtained his doctorate in strategy and management from University of St. Gallen with highest distinction and was a Visiting Scholar at Singapore Management University.
  • A lecturer for international corporate governance and big data analytics.

Dr Katalin Pallai, PhD

  • Leadership and integrity trainer, mediator and facilitator, coach and team coach.
  • With over 30 years of experience, she specializes in designing and conducting comprehensive leadership development programs where she uses both her thorough academic knowledge and wide field experience collected in 17 countries around the world.
  • Currently, serving as a prominent expert and trainer for the International Leadership Academy Program at the Council of Europe’s Centre of Expertise, a senior lecturer at the International Anti Corruption Academy, and a guest lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics.
  • Work experience in 16 countries for organizations such as European Commission, UN, Council of Europe, the World Bank, USAID, bilateral donors and national organizations.

Prof. Trond Randøy

  • Professor of Corporate Governance at CBS.
  • Currently serving on five corporate boards, two as chairman, of which two firms are publicly listed (MTI Investment SE and Sparebanken Sør) and three are private.
  • Research areas: corporate governance, boards effectiveness, impact of ownership, entrepreneurial firms, governance of microfinance.
  • He has published more than 50 scholarly articles in journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Ethics, and Journal of Banking and Finance. 

Prof. Jette Steen Knudsen

  • Professor of Corporate Sustainability, Fletcher School, Tufts University, Boston and Professor (part-time), Center for Corporate Governance, Copenhagen Business School.
  • Research areas: regulation of corporate sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate governance; sustainable finance; labor rights in global supply chains.
  • Served as director of a think tank on corporate sustainability (The Copenhagen Center for Corporate Social Responsibility); established the first sustainability review at A.P. Moller Maersk reporting to the CEO; extensive consulting on corporate sustainability and corporate governance (with Deloitte; the Asian Development Bank and working directly with many international companies).
  • She has published a book (with Jeremy Moon) titled Visible Hands. Government Regulation and International Business Responsibility (Cambridge University Press, 2017) as well as many journal articles, book chapters and business cases.

Experts

Rolandas Valiūnas

  • Managing Partner at Ellex Valiunas, Co-Chair of the BMI Executive Institute Board with experience in advising foreign investors and Lithuanian market leaders on a wide range of complex corporate governance and M&A issues.
  • Rolandas is highly commended for his significant contribution to attracting foreign investment and improving the legal framework and business environment in Lithuania.
  • He has a long-standing partnership with the Lithuanian economic investor business association Investors’ Forum as chairman of the board — a significant part of his public activity.
  • In 2020, Rolandas Valiūnas was entrusted with an important role in the International Bar Association (IBA), where he was appointed to chair the prestigious IBA Law Firm Management Committee (LFMC).

Orijana Mašalė

  • A professional Independent Board Member since 2018, she has served on the boards of private, state-owned, and municipality-owned companies.
  • Chairwoman of the Board of the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Association (CAVIA), which unites 17 organizations with a combined turnover of ~350 million euros.
  • Chairwoman of the Board of the state-owned enterprise Regitra, which provides public services such as vehicle registration, driver examinations, and issuance of driving licenses, with a turnover of 30 million euros and 1.4 million customers.
  • Orijana covers strategic planning, risk management, and technology areas on boards. She has 20 years of experience in managing teams.
  • Orijana has worked for Fortune 500 TOP3 company Chevron and the Scandinavian insurance company If. She was also an Advisor to the Minister of Economy and the Director of a Department in the National Audit Office of Lithuania.

Inga Pakalniškytė

  • Managing Partner of EY Law in Lithuania and Estonia, with a robust 20-year career that began at the Lithuanian Court of Appeals and included significant work on privatisation projects at the Chancellery of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
  • Established her own law practice in 2004, demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit and legal acumen.
  • Expert in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, with a strong track record in litigation, arbitration, and resolving shareholder conflicts.
  • Dedicated educator, teaching civil procedure law at Vilnius University and Mykolas Romeris University for over 13 years.
  • Appointed arbitrator at the Vilnius Commercial Arbitration Court, upholding the standards of legal excellence and fair dispute resolution.

Leonas Lingis

  • EY Baltics Managing Partner (from October 1, 2024).
  • Accomplished professional in international taxation and transfer pricing, providing strategic insights and solutions to a diverse clientele.
  • Active contributor to tax policy development, participating in investor working groups and speaking at key industry conferences.
  • Advocate for inclusive growth, initiating support for entrepreneurial families and promoting gender equality in business, reflecting EY’s dedication to societal impact.
